This mindset transforms assignments from an educational experience to a task that requires only minimal effort to complete. This mentality focuses on “how little the student has to learn rather than how much they can learn” (Henderson), which significantly degrades the quality of education by limiting effort. It is reasonable for students to limit their time on homework to make room for others, but the problem is that students limit their efforts overall. Viewing the outcomes of an education as more important than the education itself presents it as another task to be done when it should be viewed more as a journey. Education allows a person not only to learn, but also to change and develop as a person. Students who are willing to embrace education rather than the end goal receive a more in-depth education and experience than those who propose the bare minimum
