1. Introduction: On the basis of this project, a critical review of the third chapter “Funky Village” of the book “Funky Business” by Jonas Ridderstråle and Kjell Nordström will be carried out. The main topics of the chosen chapter will also be highlighted. Subsequently, the research question will be formulated and answered taking into consideration the authors' arguments. After reading the book I formulated my research question that reflects my personal interest in the chosen topic. Finally this project concludes with a personal commentary on the third chapter and the entire book. The book "Funky Business" by Kjell A. Nordström and Jonas Ridderstrale deals with the upcoming changes that especially affect every part of our world. The reasons for these changes are for example the higher level of technology. Individuals and organizations are affected and therefore the authors see this book as a self-help book, because it illustrates the current situation and gives a lot of advice on how to behave in these "funky" times. Step by step the authors analyze each affected area and give many tips to the reader so that he can find his way in life. Kjell A. Nordström is based at the Institute of International Business at the Stockholm School of Economics. He is also a member of the board of directors of numerous international companies. Jonas Ridderstrale works at the Center for Advanced Studies in Leadership at the Stockholm School of Economics. He also works as a consultant, lecturer and consultant for numerous international companies.2. Critical review and main topics of chapter three: Chapter three of the “funky village” of Ridderstrale and Nordström deals with several developments of our society in recent years and also shows some characteristics of our society today. Ridderstrale and Nordström begin with the “surplus society,” characterized by excess and abundance and in which excess supply and near-perfect markets are standard. The phenomenon of this society will be covered below in much more detail by examining the research question of the paper and the corresponding response of the authors. “Real-time society” follows. Nowadays time plays a much more important role and we live in a generation of speed. Nobody wants to wait for their products and so companies want to undercut when the time comes. “In the real-time economy, prices are set second by second, companies compete on the speed at which they develop, make and launch products.
