Robert Browning created some great works in the 18th century, his poems had dramatic verse and a dramatic style. Browning took off very slowly but when he did he became very noticed in English society and eventually his hard work took off and got noticed too. Browning symbolizes dramatic monologue as, for example, in his poem "My Last Duchess" he drew conclusions through the actions of his characters. Browning was influenced by many other poets and events that occurred in the 18th century. To begin with, my author is named Robert Browning and was born on May 7, 1812 in Camberwell, England. Browning is a middle-class suburb of London, he was the firstborn of his parents and the only son who had a sister named Sarianna Browning. His mother was a good Christian and a pianist while his father worked as a bank clerk. His father was also an artist, scholar and book collector. Most of Browning's education came from his father because he was very intelligent by the time Browning turned 5 he was already proficient in reading and writing. Browning was greatly influenced by the poetry of Percy Shelley and wanted the rest of his works for his thirteenth birthday. Browning was very intelligent; he knew French, Greek and Latin by the age of fourteen. Browning was home-schooled between the ages of 14 and 16 by many different tutors for music, writing and riding. He wrote poetry between the ages of thirteen and twenty. Browning wrote a volume of Byronic verse called "Incondita". Browning attended London University in 1828 but left halfway through his session. He met and fell in love with an author named Elizabeth Barrett in 1845 and they married in 1846. She and Browning kept their marriage a secret because her father... .... middle of paper ......madness and jealousy. In his poem he used imagery and word play, Browning connects to Unit 5 because in his poem he highlighted a symbol for modern urban life and writes this poem to influence the generation. I believe he is a symbolic author and a master at writing dramatic monologues. In conclusion, Browning is a modest author and was one of the most important poets of the Victorian period. Browning lived a great life and his poems live on too. I believe Browning's work has simply been misunderstood in the past and his most important poem would be "The Ring And The Book", it is not often seen today, but the poem brought him much success before he died. The descriptions that Browning emitted in his poems brought his readers closer to the characters that Browning made them relate to in some way with his unique techniques in his dramatic monologue..
