Many people purchase cosmetic products ignoring the fact that that product has killed many animals. Would you like to be sprayed with poisonous liquids, take poisonous eye drops? or be fed toxic substances? Cosmetics factories have been doing these inhumane things and more to innocent animals for years. According to PETA, every year, millions of animals are poisoned and killed in barbaric tests that were crudely developed as early as the 1920s to evaluate the toxicity of consumer products. and their ingredients. Rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits and other animals are forced to swallow or inhale huge quantities of a test substance or endure the pain of a chemical that eats away at their sensitive eyes and skin, even though test results Animal tests are often unreliable or not applicable to humans. (1) Cosmetic testing is not the only type of animal testing, but it is one of the most hated. This type of testing is not required by factories and there are many alternatives to this. Even though animal testing is wrong in many ways, there is something positive about it. Well, it's not exactly good, but humans benefit the most, and that means testing medicines on animals. Scientists test on animals because their DNA structure is very similar to ours, so if something is bad for them, it's almost bad for us too. So, to ensure public safety, animal testing helps a lot. Believe it or not, animals benefit from our medical tests because they also help us see what diseases they have and what we can do to help them (Should Animals Be Tested?, par. 5). So, while cosmetic tests are completely useless, medical tests are actually useful. It's still horrible because the death of an animal is so... middle of paper... faster that those companies realize they are losing customers and switch to alternatives. As of now the future of cosmetic testing looks bright, all the deaths of these innocent animals will not be in vain. Jesus CastroWorks CitedAnimal Testing. Np: Animal-testing.procon.org, 2013.
