They really brought the character to life. Moretz perfectly played the innocent, nerdy and shy high school girl. It's honestly one of the best parts of the film. She's a really amazing actress! The only thing that threw me a little was that Moretz looked much younger than Blackley. They could have made her look a little older, but that's the only flaw I found in the entire film. Blackley did an equally great job playing the role. He definitely looked down; it was that semi-dark look of wanting to be a rock star. The fact that he could sing also made him an even better choice. They both showed the emotion/feeling behind the character in a very realistic way. Blackley actually played his role so well that you started longing for your own Adam. You start to believe that it's all real and that they are actually the role they're playing. You really couldn't have asked for more
