I often couldn't find Keyson and when I looked for him he was in the bathroom cleaning. He would use anything even remotely resembling the cleaners I use, and even though I get angry sometimes I quickly realize it's just a model. He wants to clean the toilet and sink just like I do. Meeting Piaget (and Montessori and Vygotsky) opened my eyes to the wonder of children and made me understand that they really need to have the opportunity to express themselves and do everything they are capable of. My observations led me to realize that children are capable of learning a lot when they are stimulated by fascinating things and activities along with the necessary time, attention and guidance “children are capable of great concentration when they are surrounded by many things interesting things to do and have the time and freedom to do them” (Teaching English to Young Learners, p. 25).
