They were told "This is the Titanic, the unsinkable ship", but what were they saying when the ship broke in two and began to sink. Did everyone still believe that nothing could sink the magnificent Titanic? Or was the reality of the ship finally “sinking”? These are questions that people still ask themselves today. The sinking of the Titanic was a tragic accident that still affects culture today. The RMS Titanic (Royal Mail Steamer) was the second of three superliners built by the White Star Line to cross the Atlantic. The superliner measured 882 feet long, longer than the tallest skyscraper in New York at the time, and the rudder alone was heavier than Christopher Columbus' Santa Maria.
