Part 1Chapter 1 The Fairy Princess Night had fallen on the land as the girl walked through the forests. The darkness had stolen everything it touched, leaving it in a scene of picturesque beauty. She was surrounded by plant life; blue, red and black flowers, and trees that shaded her from the moon's glare. The moon itself, what little shone through, guided his path through the forest. He didn't need it, of course. His race, the Dark Fae, could see quite well at night. Some elders could even see through the darkness. She could hear the wildlife around her; the low growls, the hiss of something in the distance, the occasional glance of animal eyes in the darkness. At a certain point something even grazed her legs. It had soft fur and a long tail. He had retreated before she caught a glimpse of him. It was all so scary, but beautiful and exhilarating at the same time. He walked through the forest, barely making a sound. She wore a long black ceremonial robe embroidered with jewels, perfect for the occasion her mother had told her to. A pendant fell from her neck. In the center was a black jewel, a reminder of her home. He finally reached the top of a hill. In the distance he could see the Glade. A green flame illuminated the area and she could see the people already gathered. The girl began walking down the hill. Eventually his steps became big steps and before he knew it he was running. The breeze in her black hair, the feel of the night on her skin, was the best feeling in the world. He finally reached a small pool in the middle of the forest. He knelt next to the water and dipped his hands. The water was crystal clear and cool to the touch. He sprinkled some... in the center of the paper... crushed it. He nodded slowly and then took her hand. His hand hovered over hers and he whispered something. His hand began to burn violently and for a moment he closed his eyes in pain. When he opened them the caretaker was no longer there. He looked at the back of his hand and saw a symbol imprinted on it. Then the room began to fade and dissipate. The stone walls gave way to a new location. After a few seconds he found himself in what looked like a castle courtyard. The door was in front of her, tall and black. Still dazed from her recent travels, the girl stumbled towards the door. A wave of nervousness and fear took over. Trembling slightly, he raised a hand to the door and knocked three times. A cloaked figure came to open the door, red eyes glowing from beneath his hood. “Welcome, girl,” he said in a hoarse voice, “We've been waiting for you.".”
