A convenient friend is someone with whom you are generally close, and therefore it is preferable to be friendly and occasionally associate with him or her. An example of convenient friends can be your high school friends. They are convenient friends because they have been with you every day for many years, yet as soon as one graduates, they are likely to no longer interact with you. In my personal experience I have had many friends with whom I attended elementary school and then high school. I had known some of them for more than ten years and yet, because we all graduated and went to separate schools, I never heard from any of them again. They were convenient friends at the time, but once we separated and there was no longer anything that united us, we may no longer associate. Most convenient friends are simply helpful at a time, but they're probably not real
