What is Manpower/Human Resource Planning (HRP)?Manpower Planning or Human Resource Planning are synonymous. Human resource planning is broader. From now on we will call it Human Resource Planning or HRP for short. Human resource planning is the process of anticipating and implementing the movement of people within, into and out of the organization. Human resource planning is carried out to achieve the optimal use of human resources and to have the correct number and type of employees required to achieve organizational objectives. We can also say that human resource planning is the process of systematically reviewing human resource requirements to ensure that the required number of employees with the required skills are available when and where they are needed. Human resource planning includes four factors: Quantity: How many employees do we need? Quality: what skills, knowledge and skills do we need? Space: where do we need employees? Time: When do we need employees? How long will we need it? Definition of Human Resource Planning (HRP) HRP can be defined as the task of assessing and anticipating the skills, knowledge and working time requirements of the organization and initiating actions to meet or "deliver" these requirements. Therefore, if the organization as a whole or one of its subsystems is not meeting the benchmark, in other words, is in decline, it may be necessary to plan to reduce or redeploy the existing workforce. On the other hand, if it is growing or diversifying, it may need to find and tap into a source of suitably skilled labor. Let's look at some definitions of HRP provided by different experts.
