Things like manipulation, impulsiveness, and even not showing remorse are all factors that contributed to him becoming a sociopath and how his mind was affected due to his father's death. Some might say he is just joking, while others say he is a mad man trapped within the castle walls. I think he was a sociopathic genius waiting for revenge, but that's just me.
