In the current design, the blade structure is mainly analyzed on the following four aspects mentioned below: Maximum resistance analysis Stability (instability) analysis Deflection analysis (to prevent the blades hit the tower) Analysis with different cores to verify the stiffness Furthermore, the fatigue failure analysis is also included in the real field tests. The first process in wind turbine design involves calculating the various loads expected to act on the blade surface during operating wind conditions which in turn are used to calculate stresses and strains. These stresses and deflections are then compared to the design stresses and deflections of the material from which the component is to be made. Furthermore, the blade structure should meet a number of design criteria based on material properties and structural arrangement which are described below.
