She undergoes a slight change when she kisses Jim, but other than that she still has the same future as in the beginning. Even though Amanda tried to convince Laura that she was no different from any other girl and that she was still beautiful, Laura described herself as "crippled" rather than disabled. He never tried to impose himself on the norm, because he was as fragile as his glass menagerie. This only proves that she is not the protagonist, because she is just a memory that Tom can't leave behind
