Actions speak louder than words. “I, ____, take you, ____, as my legitimate husband (husband/wife), to have and keep, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part” are vows that seem invalid for many marriages. In the United States the divorce rate is 50%. The divorce decision creates many negative effects on children, friends and family. It is definitely difficult for a child to have some consistency in his life. Divorce is something that needs to be thought through carefully. The consequences are greater than marriage. People will be hurt, lives will be affected, and items will be divided. Half the time many people regret their decisions and realize that their first marriage was the best of the four or five they experienced.
