Hamlet's father was murdered and probably did not want to commit suicide because otherwise his life would disappear. He would never get answers. He would never understand what exactly had happened to his father; he would never find out why his girlfriend took her own life, and he would just be an empty human being, with no emotions attached to him. If that's why he continued his life, then that's fine. Let us just rejoice that Hamlet did not take his own life, whatever the circumstances. The way Hamlet left this world is much better than the way he would have liked to die. Laertes, son of Polonius and brother of Ophelia, is cut by the blade of his own sword, after revealing to Hamlet that Claudius is responsible for the queen's death. He dies from the blade's poison.
