Topic > The smoke-free policy - 1057

As companies transition to a smoke-free workplace, the entire environment is condemned to a smoking ban. Twenty years ago, restaurants allowed customers to smoke, while now that the anti-smoking policy has increased there are almost no restaurants or bars that allow smoking inside the building. Most restaurant customers are non-smokers; therefore customers' income would increase because non-smokers would not have to worry about secondhand smoke. Based on the 2008 Zagat survey of America's top restaurants, "The Zagat Survey 2008" America's Top Restaurants of 132,000 Americans found that "The verdict on smoking is overwhelming, with 77 percent of customers saying they would eat out less if smoking was allowed inside." local restaurants, and only 2% say they would dine out more." (Par. 5). Because of the smoking ban in restaurants, more non-smokers can enter, so businesses can make more profits and not be harmed by smoking restrictions. According to the article Smoke-free Legislation: A review of Health and Economic Outcome of Research, by EJ Hahn, “A 2010 Analysis of Economic Outs of Smoke Free Laws declared,” there is clear evidence that smoke-free legislation does not harm restaurants or bars , and in some cases activities could improve." (Par. 5). The economy has begun to target the larger non-smoking population in order to increase their revenue, but by having smoke-free businesses they are allowing a larger portion of the population to feel comfortable coming into their business and taking a seat. tobacco is in the interest of the life and family of those who use it, but there are families who depend on tobacco production.
