Topic > Analysis of the Duality of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - 2922

The duality of human nature is that human nature itself has two fundamental aspects. Many believe that an individual has a good and a bad side to him. Personally I believe that there may be times when you feel like behaving in a certain way. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde talks a little about this topic. This topic is important because it explains why an individual acts well or badly. In addition to that, the Ego and the Id are included in this account. The id is the aggressive side of a person. We might say that the id is the negative side rather than the positive side. A famous man, named Sigmund Freud, studied the Ego, Superego and Id on an individual. The ego is the decision-making side of a person, and by definition, “Hyde is a destructive being who creates chaos in the city. The reason this happens is because he is considered the duality, shadow, or other side of Dr. Jekyll. Hyde is the one who committed all the crimes. The story makes it seem like Jekyll has no control over Hyde. This is another thing that psychologically is shown by the story. The body is divided into two parts. One part is considered good and the other bad. Sometimes the evil part will slowly gain control over the good part until the good part no longer exists. This is shown in the story with Hyde taking control over Jekyll. I don't want to go off topic with this, but so that you can fully understand me, I will give an example with medications. According to this story, drugs do exactly the same thing to the human body that a man's duality does, in a metaphorical sense of course. . The drugs slowly take over your body and when you least expect it you have lost yourself. The effect these have on humans can be dangerously negative. They can destroy you completely, just as Hyde almost destroyed Jekyll. Drugs change who you are after a period of time. They make you act, think and speak differently but not fluently. I guess we can think of the chemicals Dr. Jekyll used as the drugs that made him turn into Hyde at night. He is not himself at the time Hyde comes to live. Yes, while Jekyll may not act, I consider my shadow to be evil too. Of course, as I've discussed before, I can decide whether to be one or not. The events of my life will not change who I am because I will not let it happen. There was a time when my duality wanted to take over me. I know I have a good side and a bad side, but I can let the good side take over the bad side, rather than the other way around. I believe what others believe, that is, that every human being has two personalities within him. I strongly agree with this. For those of you who don't agree with this, don't you all get angry sometimes? And of course you can be kind too. This is considered as two personalities. The duality of human nature may be confusing to some people, but the main point people need to know is that an individual, including oneself, does not just have one personality. The example I'm using is Jekyll and Hyde. They are the same person with different personalities. One is good, namely Jekyll, and the other is evil, namely Hyde. Of course the people in the play don't know this except him. At the beginning of the play Jekyll almost got caught by Utterson and another boy. After Hyde commits a crime, they see Hyde enter a house, and when Utterson and the other boy go to knock, Jekyll opens. Whenever they ask about Hyde Jekyll denies knowing anything about him. This shows that Jekyll knows he is Hyde. That being said, Hyde is taking control of Jekyll.
