It is necessary to achieve and set certain objectives for every organization. These goals are achieved in recruiting and utilizing the resources of various people in different fields of work. Manpower is the most important feature of every organization as it plays an important role in carrying out tasks to achieve innumerable goals and carry out various responsibilities giving their best for the organization. This leads to the need to hire highly skilled and dedicated employees who can best fit the role within each advertised position in an organisation. Employees are hired with different skill levels: unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled. The key component of any organization is the human resources department, where the knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents and attitudes of people who wish to be employed within a particular organization are gathered. Selecting the right staff is critical to the success of any organization. There is therefore a need for the recruitment process to be accurate for the success and performance of the chosen employees, as productivity depends on workers who are experienced and skilled in predictive job performance (Ekuma, 2012). With intense competition in the global market and issues related to employee branding and candidate attractiveness, organizations need to carefully review their recruitment and selection processes. This will ensure that employee selection methods help to improve the attractiveness of the organization, but also to predict the future job performance of the hired employees (Ekuma, 2012). Employee selection is a critical aspect of an organization's growth, vitality, and survival. Predictiveness and face validity are the two crucial elements of the paper-based process. The findings revealed that interviews are important in employee selection and face validity is a great advantage. Personality trait tests are also very effective in evaluating candidates, selecting and hiring employees. Ratings also demonstrate that employee commitment to job satisfaction, career and employment are highly sought after in any organization. This review also revealed that although skill in any job is important, personality traits are another important factor in evaluating an effective predictor of job performance. Resources and ratings are significant, but the most important factor is manpower and how it is used. Therefore future research is important to evaluate further appropriate appraisal tasks to obtain the right level of employees for each organization, as companies aim to set certain objectives that they need to achieve.
