Not only did they work as hard as men, if not harder, but they weren't paid as much. I think things would have been very different if women had been treated more equally in these times. If women were paid more and treated better, I think they would be much happier and more willing to do all their work. Many women in other countries were very prominent and sought after in these times, with the exception of England. For example, a book called “Women at Work in Medieval Europe” talks about the greatness of women in Europe. The women in this book did everything a man could do. They were also praised for their hard work. Food trading was what women were known for. “Imagine a beautiful and succulent 15th century banquet that includes among the poultry courses the swete feasaunt, a delicious honey-glazed stuffed pheasant served with spicy green sauce. That dinner could not be prepared without the ingredients of the field workers, market sellers and imports” (Cosman 82). This statement shows how much women were appreciated for their work. In England, women were expected to do all this without being praised for it. I don't understand why they weren't given the same respect given to women from other countries or to women
