Chapter-11.1 Introduction Women's entrepreneurship has long been associated with concepts such as female empowerment and emancipation. It has also been considered important for improving the quality of life of women in developing countries. Entrepreneurship is increasingly regarded as an essential means for growth, increased production, innovation of ideas and job creation, and is widely accepted as an essential aspect of economic dynamism. Transforming ideas into economic opportunities is the key issue of entrepreneurship. The past represents that economic progress was generated by people with entrepreneurial and innovative skills, eager to exploit opportunities and willing to take risks. The role of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture has often been underestimated in economic and social development. Over the years, however, it has become increasingly clear that entrepreneurship contributes to the economic development of the country. However, most businesses were owned by men. In other words, it was not common to see women owning businesses, especially in developing countries like India. The idea and practice of female entrepreneurship is a recent concept. Until the 1980s, very little was known about female entrepreneurship, both in practice and in research. The whole phenomenon of female entrepreneurship and women-run organizations is just the development of the 1980s. Entrepreneurship has been defined differently depending on the changing trends of socioeconomic reality. Almost 50% of the world's population is made up of women and they cover around two-thirds of total working hours. 10% of the world's problems... middle of paper... among women have led to a major change in their role. During this period, women also began to fight against social evils. Economic Role: We have seen rural women working in fields and farms since time immemorial. Women worked to help their partners in small-scale industries. With the changing economic roles and responsibilities of women, particularly among the poor, employment has become a means of survival. Male unemployment due to wage work and the high increase in urbanization have led to an increase in the number of married female workers. Due to men's low earnings, it often imposes double responsibilities on married women to compensate for supporting the family. Women's contribution to family income is the solution to satisfying basic survival needs. Therefore, the contribution of women ensures that the health and nutritional level of the members improves.
