Topic > Is developing artificial intelligence ethical?

Accept our robot masters! Actually, artificial intelligences, not robots. Artificial intelligence or AI is a program that can learn and improve itself to a level lower than, equal to, or higher than that of humans. Many believe that artificial intelligence would end humanity as we know it, often due to films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Terminator, however these are fictional Hollywood blockbusters, not real life. In reality, artificial intelligence does not yet exist, however humankind is close to developing it. Artificial intelligence would improve life in many ways. It would give the military a new edge in combat. Robots equipped with artificial intelligence could do the jobs we don't want to do or the dangerous jobs. One of the greatest goals of the human race is the advancement of science and technology. the development of artificial intelligence would be a big step towards this goal. Artificial intelligence would be of great benefit to almost all aspects of humanity and therefore should be developed. Artificial intelligence is human-like intelligence that is exhibited by a machine or software (Google definitions). It is a machine that can think for itself, make moral decisions, and learn on its own without being programmed to perform other tasks. We should create a device that, in short, can program itself. This is very difficult because we don't know where to start. AIs are not fully understood. Many people believe that Siri is an artificial intelligence. This is not true because Siri is simply voice recognition software that is connected to a database and only searches for results(6). The same goes for Watson, the robot that plays danger(6). Almost all robots require user input, not necessarily a controller. Robots and AI go hand in hand, if you see one, you often see it with the other, simply because they are the perfect compliments. An AI can't do much without… middle of paper… ping AI is unethical because it limits humanity's progress, which is one of humanity's ultimate goals. -kentaroSuber, Peter.
