(Francis Bacon Sr.) Although beauty pageants for young children serve political, educational, and entertainment purposes, pageants should be banned from the United States until they reach the age of sixteen because young children are bullied and studies show that children who are active at that age can lead to depression and uncontrollable behavior. Seeing little girls prancing around in tight dresses, high heels and fake tan is just disgusting. people should be ashamed of putting a child through a situation like this. I even hate seeing teenagers cover their faces with makeup. Any kind of display, except all natural beauty, is just wrong. Child beauty pageants are where little girls of all ages under sixteen go out in public and dress like dolls and cover their faces in unhealthy makeup. Pageants don't just affect your emotions, but also your body image. If you want people to see you for who you really are, don't wear things that make you look like someone else. You are risking your image on how people see you. For example, if you've ever walked by a store, maybe you're unrecognizable because people are used to seeing you wearing makeup. Body image is supposed to be about how your body looks and not how others want you to look. But some people say something else about it. Either mother, father or both parents across the United States enter their children in children's pageants. The competitions offer advantageous programs and scholarships to the people helped.
