INTRODUCTION1. Pakistan Navy is a four-dimensional force of Pakistan but has been neglected due to unawareness of Pakistan's political think tanks regarding the geopolitical importance of Pakistan's coastal belt and the right role of Pakistan Navy in its best utilization. Nowadays Pakistan Navy is going through major and effective changes to emerge as a regional force. Since the birth of Pakistan, the Navy has demonstrated its effectiveness and efficiency at all times.2. Pakistan Navy has a defined mission and vision to defend its exclusive economic zone, offshore economic resources, sea lines of communication and to protect its merchant fleet which is important for Pakistan's trade, as most of the trade of Pakistan occurs through the sea. In this regard, Pakistan Navy has undergone resource development and improved its tactics and strategies. Pakistan Navy has emerged as a major stakeholder in maintaining regional maritime security in the coming years by being a vigilant and capable naval force. The risk of a bloc remained a vital point of consideration for the PN's strategic thinking. Pakistan learned this lesson from the devastation of the 1971 war, when, despite the PN placing its surface fleet along the Pakistani coast in an attempt to repel Indian naval forces, Indian missile boats were able to strike Karachi. But this was not seen so much as a disappointment of the sea denial strategy, as it was interpreted as a case of insufficient resources to protect Pakistan's coast. Since then, Pakistan has placed particular importance on growing maritime reconnaissance and subterranean warfare capabilities to ease the threat of a blockade off Karachi. As far as Western countries are concerned, UK-Pakistan relations are not that deep and strong. Pakistan needs to improve in research and development. Local development should be strengthened and appreciated in the defense sector, even if achieved with China's cooperation. Pakistan Navy gets the least share in the defense budget, which needs to be revised as PN demands more budget for future development of platforms and maintenance of current platforms26. 95% of Pakistan's trade is done by sea and almost all energy imports are done through the sea, so to make them work smoothly and without interference it is necessary to generate resources for a more robust Navy that is responsible for maritime security. Pakistan Navy needs nuclear-capable submarine platforms to balance IN's submarine supremacy and is in the best interest of peace and security in South Asia.
