I will write about the Trayvon Martin vs. George Zimmerman case. I will try to demonstrate how George Zimmerman always managed to commit murders and how the jury let this happen. Trayvon Martin was a 17-year-old black male who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman because Zimmerman claimed he was defending himself. A 29 year old, 5'8, 170 pound white male being beaten and threatened by a 17 year old 5'11, 158 pound male is extremely hard to believe. George Zimmerman had no right to shoot Trayvon and the fact that Trayvon Martin has no weapons of any kind makes it worse. All he had was a bag of skittles; an Arizona iced tea and I was wearing a black sweatshirt. The points I want to make are why Zimmerman is guilty, how the criminal justice department didn't do their job trying to get justice for Trayvon and his family, how the jury didn't do everything everything he could to make sure George Zimmerman did. not getting away with this terrible crime and how Zimmerman could have been convicted of a hate crime instead of manslaughter or 2nd degree murder. Thousands of black male teenagers die every year from gun crimes. Many of the teenagers killed are not even 18 years old. The children and teenagers killed in 2008 and 2009 could fill more than 229 classrooms. Gun homicide is the leading cause of death for African American males. Trayvon Martin is a perfect example of gun homicide killing our black males. Trayvon Martin was 17 years old and walking home from 711 on a rainy night. As he walked, he saw George Zimmerman following him and asking him where he was going. When Trayvon started running, Zimmerman chased him and shot Trayvon Martin because he thought Trayvon was doing something he shouldn't have been doing. “George Zimm......middle of paper......ge Zimmerman didn't get away with this terrible crime and how Zimmerman could have been convicted of a hate crime instead of manslaughter or murder of 2nd degree. It is extremely important that everyone understands that crimes like this will not stop unless they are adequately addressed. Zimmerman should not have followed Trayvon after the police officer ordered him not to; he disobeyed an officer and should have received some type of consequence for his disobedience. There was no legitimate reason for Zimmerman to go after Trayvon because he had no weapons and was minding his own business. If Zimmerman had stayed in his lane and followed the police officers' orders, all of this could have been avoided. George Zimmerman is guilty and should be punished for what he did, and the fact that I found all the evidence to prove that he is proves all my points too.
