Topic > A Career for a Cosmetologist - 1871

Treona Smith I would like to study to be a cosmetologist because it is a very intermediate and interesting career. I find this career interesting because I love doing my hair and I love constantly changing my hair style. I feel like I like to express myself through hair and I could expand my expression by combing other people's hair. I think you could almost tell someone's personality by looking at their hair style. Being a cosmetologist suits me best because hair is my best skill. Also I am a very creative person and very diverse in my abilities to style someone's hair. I am a very patient person and a very polite and respectful person. To be a hairdresser you have to be patient because of the type of clients you will be dealing with. I am also very generous and kind to people. Most hairdressers have a good attitude because of the job they chose that made them so. I would also like to become a cosmetologist because it is a job that considers you self-employed. Being self-employed is very good because you don't have to worry about others and having a boss. When you like to work alone or with other hairdressers this is a great deal to consider. It also means you must be honest and respectful to all of your clients.Career PlanningFreshman• Algebra• Biology• English 9• PE 1 and Career ExplorationSophomore Year• Geometry• English 10• Science (Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated Chemistry-PhysicalJunior Year• Algebra II • US History • English 11 • Science Senior Year • Advanced Mathematics, Physics, or Quantitative Reasoning • Government and Economics • English 12 or AP English* • Science Academic Honors require 2 AP classes and corresponding exams, two college classes with duals credit or a combine...... middle of paper ......I would like to see what it's like to be a hairdresser I have found that becoming a cosmetologist is very expensive but it is worth it there are many different hair schools,. I never knew how many there were. Another thing is all the education and learning needed. You can't become a hairdresser without just passing knowledge before you can even get into college. I didn't know you needed to have a high school diploma or GED. I knew people needed it, but I didn't know it was necessary and without it you can't become necessary. I learned that you meet many types of people and that if you want to become a hairdresser you need to start now and build your career. I also learned that it's not easy to build a perfect clientele and that in the beginning you don't make as much as you think you can.
