Corruption is present in every city and government in one form or another. However, to counteract corruption, society needs a form of structure to function properly, whether the structures involve characteristics of intimacy and love or civility and trust. Society will see that most people will react positively to have forms of love and trust. Intimacy and love are very different than civility and trust: I believe intimacy and love work better in situations with fewer people, but civility and trust are better placed for larger groups. Therefore, I will argue that civility and trust surpass intimacy and love where trust has greater importance to society. Intimacy and love are important factors for interpersonal relationships but as a foundation for not governing and controlling society. Consider a three-person group situation, or also known as a triad, intimacy and love are not successful most of the time (Freidkin 05/20/10). Take for example a family of three, father, mother, son or daughter, who have unconditional love for each other. However, as the adolescent grows, he may not always agree with his parents' decisions about his life; and/or vice versa, where parents may not like the teenager's lifestyle. This shows that we tend to regard others with high esteem and respect when we love another. Furthermore, when we love others, we want the best for them and help them make better decisions to have better relationships with the party. In relation to society, intimacy and love are not ideal characteristics because they are too personal; not everyone will allow others to voluntarily control their life and environment on behalf of strangers. Those who have conflicting beliefs with superior personnel will feel that some choice... middle of paper... recognition of differences is realistic because no two people have the same morals and values that are not in conflict. This shows that civility and trust show tolerance for the discord of others and seek answers to deal with every problem and conflict. With the application of accommodation, society will have more advantages to thrive under the idea that the public will work together. Ultimately, society cannot resolve corruption with intimacy and love but with civility and trust. Civility and trust are better for group relationships, such as society, because they show tolerance and respect for others. Intimacy and love can also be used, but it is a lower functioning characteristic for society due to the pressure to be an “idealized” society. Intimacy and love show greater results in smaller groups because they are more privatized while civility and trust focus on the public.
