I sat in my bed and wondered what my purpose was not only in my family, but also in the world around me. Being young and not understanding what you were put on Earth to do is hard, and I really feel sorry for my 8 year old self. At 8 years old you should be enjoying life without stress. An 8-year-old's biggest concern should be whether he will play at the neighbor's house or stay to watch his favorite movie. Life wasn't so easy for me, but that doesn't mean I was the only struggling 8-year-old in the world. I knew I shouldn't feel the way I felt, but at the same time I didn't know how to fix it either
