We would much rather sit and watch a show about rich, superficial housewives arguing over trivial matters, or New Yorkers living in huge apartments that they somehow magically can afford, despite have a job that pays moderate wages or have no job at all. It's amazing how this problem continues to grow over the years and the only thing that decreases is the attention we give it. I kept noticing that the more I looked the less I discovered that they didn't want poverty in America to become a big problem since we are considered a filthy rich country and yet we have huge debts to surrounding countries and are barely making it. being able to sustain ourselves without falling apart. The media is the reason why poverty in America is not mentioned as often and when it is considered we get incomplete stories or articles that don't allow the reader to find the point of the article.
