Pacific Rim is an easy movie to watch, which makes people think it's stupid, like me. The dialogue is horrendous, but if you take it away, you realize there's more to the film than meets the eye. Analyzing the film thinking only of the images, it can be considered a good film. The acting and dialogue are weak, which is frustrating for many people, but if we just pay attention to the story and characters, we can see a film full of emotion and with the potential to be a great film. Raleigh Becket and his older children's brother have an interesting relationship. They have a bond that many would be jealous of and hope to have with their siblings. They are pilots and are constantly “in each other's heads”. When Raleigh's brother dies, he feels his fear and will have to deal with that feeling for the rest of his life. He no longer wants to be a Jaeger pilot due to the fear of having to face it again. He doesn't want anyone in his head anymore.
