"Animal Farm" is one of George Orwell's most famous works, along with 1984. The reason I chose this novel is that it is often mentioned in popular culture and I think reading it will contribute greatly to my cultural knowledge. I decided to read this book after previously reading Orwell's novel "1984". “Animal Farm” was written by George Orwell and published in 1945. The translator of the book, published by the National Education Printing House in Istanbul in 1954, is Halide Edip Adıvar. "Animal Farm" is a darkly humorous fable that criticizes the political events of the era in which it was written. British writer George Orwell, whose real name is Eric Arthur Blair, was born on June 25, 1903. He graduated from college at Eton College, a prestigious school, and then served for a while in the police force of Burma, which was a British colony at the time. The brutal practices he witnessed during this service led him to hold a grudge against imperialism. The event that changed Owell's life and inspired him to write "Animal Farm" was his joining the volunteer troops to fight against Fraco, who attempted a coup in Spain with the support of Mussolini and Hitler. Although he joined the volunteer units, he was doubtful of participating in combat due to his lack of military experience and his weak body, but his visit to Spain gave him the thought and inspiration needed to write Animal Farm, a novel which would bring him great fame. in the future George Orwell What he saw in Spain He was very impressed with you. A new order has arrived in Spain: prostitution has disappeared, words indicating class are no longer used, tipping is prohibited and even many goods on the market are free for those who need them (Orwell, 47). Overall, although the ancient language gives the book a somewhat ancient feel; Combined with the fact that the book is fluid, realistic and natural, it revealed the classic look of the book. "Animal Farm" was a novel that did not disappoint me, even though it was written in a genre that I don't read much. Learning about the period and the important people of that period before reading the novel was the key that unlocked the novel for me. Although it was expected that in the end there was no difference between animals and humans, it surprised me because I expected the animals to rise up again and establish a new democracy in the novel. Reading the book made a great contribution to my cultural knowledge. Learning about this book, considered a classic around the world and mentioned in many different fields, from TV series to music, gave me a different perspective..
