Topic > The brain's reflection in Frankenstein and Mary Shelly...
Of all the film adaptations, this one offers the truest understanding and character depth of the original novel. compared to the first adaptations which were placed in the horror genre, the 1994 version brings to life the main themes of the novel which do not seem to be intended as horror at all. Mary Shelley may have written the novel as a piece of fiction based on imagination, or it should have had more significant themes and ideas disguised as fictions, we will never know, but the later film version leans more towards the idea of meaning deeper than simply anything else. monster
