The number of men, women and children who have fallen victim to homelessness in Phoenix is on the rise and the Phoenix government must act before it is too late and the homeless lose their their life. With the growing number of homeless people increasing every night, it is becoming increasingly difficult for shelters to house them as they don't have enough space or resources available to help. There has not been a new report to count how many homeless people live in Phoenix since 2013, but one thing that is known is that “250 families in Maricopa County are expected to be homeless on any given night” (Taylor). There are currently 13 shelters housing the homeless every night in Phoenix, Arizona, many of them not only providing housing but also "services such as alcohol and drug rehab treatment along with clinics" (Phoenix Homeless Shelters & Services for the Needy) . shelters provide some help, but there are not enough of them to provide the care and housing needed to help the homeless. The number of shelters is not enough, and more need to be built with adequate staffing and resources to help keep the homeless out of Phoenix's unforgiving heat and possible death. If
