These leaders feel the need to have control over every situation. Command and control leaders believe that the outcome of any situation is in their hands. They are not good listeners and offer one-way communication with their employees. This leadership style does not allow others to have comments or concerns regarding any decision making. There are many leaders who have developed how to be command and control managers; particularly politicians and leaders within organizations that have a culture based on command and control norms. The historical influence and dominance of this leadership style is difficult to escape, especially for some religious organizations. Command and control leaders are highly respected by nature and use a top-down approach that allows leaders who meet higher standards and occupy management positions to be treated with admiration and gives them the honor of having more power over others within the group.
