Spartacus was a great warrior born in Thrace around 109 BC. Thrace was in northern Greece and was an enemy of Rome. Although not much is known about his early life, it is known that he served as a support for or against Rome. Spartacus abandoned Rome and was accused of crime, his punishment was that he would be sold into slavery to a man named Lentulus Batiatus. This man was the owner of a gladiator school in Capua. Lentulus Batiatus enrolled Spartacus in the school. The school was mainly used to train new gladiators or keep gladiators between fights. The teachers at the school treated them very severely.
