My long-term career goals include pursuing research in bioinformatics and teaching in an academic environment. I have found a career in research to be intellectually stimulating and satisfying and therefore have decided to consider it as my career goal. I have always been fascinated by biology and computer science, which inspired me to undertake my university studies in the field. of Bioinformatics. As part of my undergraduate curriculum, I was exposed to a variety of topics such as “Introduction to Algorithms,” “Systems Biology,” “PERL for Bioinformatics,” “Python,” “Molecular Structure and Modeling,” and “Genomics and Proteomics ” which had awakened my interest in areas such as docking algorithms, protein structure prediction, practical aspects of simulation setup and execution, gene expression prediction through computational analysis. These fields have both a strong computational flavor and research potential which is what attracts me towards them. Slowly and gradually I started honing my conceptual and operational skills...
