For over two centuries, abortion has been the subject of controversy in the United States; Furthermore, at the heart of this debate is the stalemate between pro-life and pro-choice advocates. Individuals who identify as pro-life strongly oppose abortion, believing it to be unjust and illegal. The argument often made by pro-life advocates is that the fetus in question qualifies as a human being; therefore, ending his life prematurely is akin to murder. Pro-choice advocates, on the other hand, are strong advocates of leaving decision-making power in the mother's hands and allowing her to determine what is best for both her and her unborn child. (Hopefully) Overall, the abortion debate can be attributed to conflicting views on morality. Pro-lifers believe that ending a potential life is immoral, while pro-choice advocates believe that limiting a mother's rights and freedoms is the greater evil.
