In the mini-lessons students will learn vocabulary and activities that are used throughout the day and night. The materials will include three images on a powerpoint presentation. Students will actively share their opinions and thoughts as they look at the images, as well as words and phrases related to the images. Students will begin by looking at two pictures to start a conversation. One will show a daytime image while the other will show a night scene. Students will have a few minutes to look at each picture and then talk about the different things they see in each picture. They will write different words that relate to the images. Then the two images will be placed side by side where students will compare the two images. Then the teacher will ask a series of questions such as: What are some phrases you say during the day? What are some phrases you say at night? What are some activities/events that take place during their day? And at night? Then students will discuss in groups their favorite things to do during the day and night and share them with the class and teacher.
