As the world continues to evolve, we must ask ourselves this question: Is the world changing for the better? In my opinion it isn't. I believe the "change" in the world refers to technological advances. As technology grows, human jobs are replaced with advanced machinery, the next generation appears to become less intelligent, and human contact is replaced by other devices. As technology continues to take over the world, human jobs are being replaced by factories and computers. . Human labor is simply not valued as much. Simple things like emails and SMS lead to jobs being cut in post offices because stamps are not needed, thus a reduction in wages for the employee. Due to the economic downturn, my local library reduced the number of employees and they were replaced by self-checkout machines. We should be concerned as this practice continues to grow at a rapid pace. With an economic crisis, we don't need a bigger increase in the unemployment rate. With the introduction of more modern gadgets, America's kids seem to focus more on texting, emailing and wasting money....
