It was intimidating and a little scary, but I instinctively tried to help the patient and his family in any way I could. As the day progressed, I had less anxiety when administering the patient's medications and felt more comfortable checking in with the patient and their family to ensure they had no unmet needs. Because of our first encounter with the doorway assessment, providing patient care was not as scary as the first few days of clinic were. This resulted in a rather interesting post-clinic conference where each student had something interesting to discuss regarding the patients they cared for
