When people get education, they will also get real life techniques like ways to communicate and how to deal with the possible problem in life. At school, our teachers teach us all the subjects in the textbooks as well as teaching us to actively participate in extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities such as participation in speeches, debates, sports and other school programs will activate children's communication skills. Likewise, author Wes' parents also learned communication skills in school. Not only that, they also learned how to face problems without being afraid of the consequences. When the author Wes went into depression because he was unable to do well in school, which made him feel he had to drop out of military school, his mother knew what she had to do as a responsible guardian, she acted very precisely, he did not use physical threats. Instead, she told him, "'I'm so proud of you, and your father is proud of you, and we just want you to try. Too many people sacrificed so that you could be there.'" (95). His mother knew the communication skills on how to persuade his son to do good and, most importantly, he said that they are proud of how he communicated with his son made him understand that studying diligently should be his first priority
