The traditional administrative role of HR practices is a thing of the past, and new roles for HR management are emerging at an alarming rate in the 21st century . HR is increasing its support of corporate goals and objectives and at the same time becoming strategic business partners. Challenges for the 21st century include changing roles, demographic change and globalization. For HR to stay current, they need to adapt and make necessary changes in terms of reskilling, alternative working hours, and technological advancements. Therefore, these successes must be analyzed and evaluated in terms of effectiveness. HUMAN RESOURCES CHALLENGES With the 21st century in motion, human resource management will face some of the old struggles and human resources will be forced to face many new challenges. The main objective of human resources is to recruit, retain, train, retrain and keep workers satisfied. Indeed, these responsibilities can be challenging in the 21st century, especially with changing roles, a multigenerational workforce and globalization. Traditionally, human resources has been an administrative position that handles paperwork, benefits, hiring, firing and compensation processing. However, human resource management has recently shifted from a traditional role to a strategic one, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of consumers and workers. Before, HR was seen as an enemy and employees believed that HR's main purpose was to protect management. Now, the position requires human resource management to be more people-oriented and protect their human capital, the staff. Furthermore, human resource management must be business-minded and think of themselves as strategic partners in the 21st century. Multigenerational workforce. Another major challenge that the HR department will face in the 2121s… mid-paper… but it will continue to transform. Just as HR has changed from 10 years ago, the same will be true 10 years from now.
