Topic > Character Analysis of the Three Faces of Eve - 1215
The doctor interested in treating Eva is depicted as frequently consulting Dr. Day, who is a neurologist while treating Eva. This practice is remarkably unethical in psychoanalysis (Johnson et. al. 2004). In essence, the ethics of psychoanalysis requires the psychiatrist to converse freely with the patient rather than with a third party. Furthermore, the film depicts Dr. Luther as not using any organized psychotherapy techniques in treatment except when he hypnotizes Eva in a tactical attempt to access her repressed memory of supposed childhood.
