Topic > Rowling's Importance of Life - 878

I took the friendships I was lucky enough to have and only truly appreciated them when I wanted to. Now that many of my friends are separated, life seems even more miserable. Through reading Rowling's quote, "Life is difficult, complicated, and beyond anyone's total control and the humility of knowing that will allow one to survive its vicissitudes." I realized the idea of what it means to have real friendships. To have that kind of relationship with the people in my life, I have to be able to give them everything and make them feel important, because by taking them for granted, I'm throwing them over my shoulder like another holiday card; there will always be more to come. By knowing that friendships won't last forever, I can be grateful for them before they disappear, so I won't be heartbroken, but will instead remember the promising times of the past when vicissitudes begin to take hold.
