The 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution states the following: "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." This inalienable right has led to numerous massacres across the country since its establishment and has been a subject of controversy and interest from then until now. An amendment to the Bill of Rights is an inalienable right and therefore cannot be taken away because the United States government itself was created to protect them.
