Topic > Analysis of Hofstede's five dimensions of culture

The feminine dimension is gender roles and behaviors (Hall, 2014). There are some male and female cultures that behave differently. Masculine cultures represent “achievement, heroism, assertiveness, and the material rewards of success.” (National Culture) In comparison, female culture represents “cooperation, modesty, care for the weak and quality of life”. (National culture) Unfortunately I see a lot of similarities between most European business units and the US when it comes to this dimension because there are many men in management and vice president positions. I don't see or interact with many women in senior management or beyond. I have found that in our medical software and hardware industry, the industry is currently predominantly male. There are many software engineers and field service technicians (working on the equipment) who help the company grow the software and service our equipment
