Since it appears that Jamal's worst fear is being humiliated by others once he speaks, it is safe to assume that Jamal's lack of interaction with people ultimately has led to negative perceptions about himself. The goal would be that once Jamal began practicing the self-talk technique using positive affirmations, he would be able to slowly shift from having a negative perception of himself to a more positive perception. This transition would allow him to start gaining more self-confidence. There's a possibility that the view feature could be useful as well, but only in a scenario where Jamal could legitimately be afraid of people. I don't think the visualization aspect would be very helpful because in the case study it states that Jamal previously spent a lot of time fantasizing about talking to others, but when the opportunity approached, he actually failed to do so.
