They were very friendly and offered me drinks, and were very sincere in our conversations. I informed them that I was there for a student project and they asked me for more information. The one I talked to the most was Mark. Mark and I ended up playing on the same team several times during the rest of the project. Having a friend in a social environment is always helpful and having one in a new environment is invaluable to my mental health. As sociable as we humans are, first contact and interactions are always stressful. Joining the trivia teams was pretty easy, all you had to do was ask and if they weren't full they generally said yes. After all, it increases their chances of winning the prize. I felt like an outsider before I met and befriended Mark. It offered me some stability in a new region. We talked and had drinks occasionally long after the trivia was over, and offered him if he could help us further. I rejected his offer, as I didn't want anyone else to have different opinions about the project than mine. As an introvert, I often avoid socializing after work and school drains my energy. Refilling a bar is something more appealing to extroverts who fill up on energy
