And one of the most stressful things they had to deal with was when they were running out of fuel and oxygen, so there was a risk to their lives. Scientists in the field debated whether to go around the Moon or return directly. Around the Moon, they would have used less "fuel" energy but would have taken longer and perhaps would have lost oxygen. The straight path would have taken less time, but would have used more energy, since it was faster. The path they chose was around the Moon, and they chose it because it uses less energy, and people on earth were trying to find a way for the oxygen to last longer. People on Earth were really worried about the amount of energy in the spacecraft, because they feared that the fuel would not be enough to allow the astronauts to return to home “Earth”. To make the energy last longer, they chose to rotate the spaceship around the moon so as to use less energy, they also asked the astronauts to turn off the computer or anything that they are not using that could consume energy, to save it for them to return to earth. The air quality in the spacecraft was worrying, fearing that the astronauts would not have enough oxygen and therefore would not survive, especially after losing a huge amount of oxygen.
