Since 1973, when Roe v. Wade, there was a debate about abortion. The first party in this case, the liberal one, believes that women have the right to control their own bodies. Hence, the conservative side believes that every life must be protected and that human life begins at the moment of conception. In addition to having two totally different points of view, there are also some gray areas where both parties are not really sure, such as the use of the birth control pill, the morning after pill, the private abortion pill and educated abortions . Abortion should not be legal, as life begins at conception. A Los Angeles Times writer rightly argued that abortion requirements are an “irrelevant interference” (“The Right to Choose”). Many tests, two doctor's visits and the legal 72-hour wait before anything can be done are hassles in each of our busy lives. But wait! Abortion has now been made easier for women with unwanted pregnancies. A glass of water, some pills, waiting with your spouse or loved one, depression, cramps, bleeding, pain, and finally the end of a pregnancy (“On Their Terms”). Women who do not want to get pregnant can easily end their lives without any problems other than the possibility of becoming infertile and the side effects listed above. This pill is called RU-486; it requires no huge bills from the doctor, no one to play the woman who walks into the clinic, no judgment because no one knows. Abortion is a sensitive and poignant topic for many young women; most of them can't even remember when abortion wasn't safe (“Health Law Covers Abortion Issues”).
