Kidderminster Central Business District Introduction============For my GCSE fieldwork we were required to visit the central business district ( for short CBD) of a town or city. The town I will be exploring is called Kidderminster and is located in central England, near the Wyre Forest district, in the Worcestershire countryside, on the River Stour. Kidderminster is just 19 miles south of Birmingham. It has a very industrial history and is known as the origin of the carpet industry. The carpet manufacturing industry was established in 1735. The town's population is 54,644, last recorded in 1991. Another goal is also to find out whether Kidderminster has the same characteristics as a CBD. Predictions I have made some predictions to accompany my goal.1. The closer you get to the CBD, the more shops there are.2. As you get closer to the CBD, the population density will increase.3. The quality of the Store and Environment will increase as you get closer to the CBD.4. The facades will become smaller as you get closer to the CBD.5. As the distance to the CBD gets shorter, specialty shops will increase.6. As homes close to the CBD, they will become more nucleated. I believe in these hypotheses due to many geographic factors present, which apply to most cities in the MEDC. I also believe this is the case as when moving away
